DESCRIPTION
Our understanding of the genetic basis of disease advances at a rapid pace. The goal of this course is to share the status of genetic research and clinical knowledge in regards to several common diseases.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Learning Objective 1: Analyze the current genetic testing methods available for four common conditions: autism, epilepsy, diabetes and Alzheimer’s.
- Learning Objective 2: Identify appropriate patients for genetic testing for these common conditions.
- Learning Objective 3: Examine the impact of genetic testing on recommendations for clinical management of these common conditions.
