DESCRIPTION
The technology used for genetic counseling in both clinical and research realms has evolved significantly over a short period of time. Although telemedicine has been around for a while, its use has skyrocketed in the last year, and technologies such as Chatbots and other AI applications for simplifying variant interpretation have begun to adapt the overall process of patient care. This technological evolution has also benefited educational efforts for clinicians and patients. This course will provide comprehensive insights into the following: 1) Technological applications; 2) Related challenges and considerations for solutions; 3) Both provider and user perspectives, and 4) Ethical considerations for using various technologies for patient care.
