DESCRIPTION
As pharmacogenomics becomes increasingly relevant in clinical care it is imperative for healthcare providers to understand this testing. This course will provide an introduction to pharmacogenomics, clinical applications of testing, limitations, and guidance for understanding and interpreting testing results. Viewers will also examine the types of pharmacogenomic analysis currently available, review regulations and how this is changing the landscape of testing, consider roles and scope of practice for genetic counselors and other specialists related to pharmacogenomics, and learn how to tailor a genetic counseling session for pharmacogenomic referrals.
