DESCRIPTION
This course is a six hour compilation of plenary presentations given at the NSGC 41st Annual Conference. All lectures have a DEIJ theme, covering the history and landscape of DEIJ in genetic counseling, ways to improve health equity within the genetic counseling field, and the improvement of patient care across diverse populations. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Summarize upstream factors impacting health equity in genetic counseling.
- Identify actions that genetic counselors can take to diversify the workforce, improve access to services, and create inclusive technologies and research opportunities.
- Evaluate strategies for appropriate communication about sex, gender, ableism, and genomics in order to promote just care for patients across diverse populations.

The American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) will accept CEUs earned at this program for the purposes of genetic counselor recertification. Please note that content in this bundle has been offered for CEUs at the NSGC 2022 Annual Conference. Learners may not claim CEUs for activities they have been awarded CEU credit for previously.
